Cancelada Village - Spain

Cancelada is a very small village located between San Pedro de Alcantara and Estepona. The are several housing areas in Cancelada, Bel-Air being particularly popular among foreign residents. The village of Cancelada offers a nice choice of restaurants, cafes and shops. I think one of the nicest memories of our short walk through the village was to observe the local custom of placing little birdhouses on the outside walls of houses during the daytime. I was able to capture this in one of the photographs below. |

A rather surprising and beautiful custom here is to hang bird cages on the outside walls of your house during the daytime
Hanging planters outside is another beautiful custom in Spain
Looking at this picture reminded me of how we do travel throughout our brief existence on this planet begining our journey as mere babes and ultimately aging
